Kumasi: The Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Commission, Isaac Tandoh, has disclosed that the newly commissioned office complex in the Ashanti Region will serve as the designated centre for the Inspectorate Division's licence examination. The initiative aims to reduce costs, save time, and ensure easier access to mining licences for all qualified Ghanaians. This announcement was made during the commissioning event held by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources in conjunction with the Minerals Commission.
According to Ghana Web, the multipurpose office complex will also house a two-storey laboratory equipped with technical facilities for mineral testing, sample preparation, analysis, quality assurance, research collaboration, and regulatory monitoring. Isaac Tandoh emphasized that the facility would enhance the Commission's capacity to deliver technical services, improve response times, and enable the efficient assessment of mineral samples.
Additionally, the office complex features a museum and public education facility designed to showcase Ghana's mineral endowment, mining history, geological features, and responsible mining practices. Tandoh noted that the facility is expected to improve access to regulatory services for stakeholders in the Ashanti Region and surrounding areas.
