NDC Western North Chairman Confident in Timely Completion of Big Push Roads

Western north: Mr Michael Aidoo, the Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed confidence that contractors working on the Big Push roads in the region will complete the projects within the stipulated time. In an interview with the media during a progress assessment tour, he noted significant improvement on the road projects following a recent visit by the Minister for Roads and Highways.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Aidoo stated, "I am very confident the works will be completed on time because the minister is very aggressive and wants President Mahama to succeed. He will not entertain any delays." He highlighted his satisfaction with the progress on the Enchi to Pekyi road, which links the Akontombra District to the Aowin Municipality.

Mr Aidoo also commented on the government's 24-hour economy market initiative, commending President John Dramani Mahama for initiating nine such markets in the region. He expressed optimism that these facilities, once completed, would enhance local economies across the districts. Additionally, he addressed misconceptions about the contract duration for these markets, clarifying that the market being constructed at Nsawora in the Akontombra District is scheduled for completion within 18 months.

Furthermore, Mr Aidoo praised the government for appointing several indigenes of the region into the current administration. He encouraged the youth who are yet to secure appointments to remain calm, assuring them that more employment opportunities are forthcoming.
