NDC Executives Demand Sanctions Against MP Dorcas Affo Toffey Over Alleged Anti-Party Actions

Savelugu: Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savelugu Constituency in the Northern Region are up in arms, calling for the party's Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro and Deputy Minister of Transport, Dorcas Affo Toffey, to be punished. The executives accuse the deputy minister of engaging in anti-party behaviour when she attended an event hosted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Savelugu, Abdul Aziz Fatahiya, in the constituency. According to Ghana Web, the executives claimed that Affo Toffey was at the said campaign for the NPP MP and even made a donation of GHS100,000. They reported that during the event, she was captured in a video expressing support for the NPP Member of Parliament for Savelugu and stating that he deserves another term. The executives expressed concern over the implications of her actions for the NDC and the potential impact on the party's prospects for the 2028 parliamentary elections. They further stated that Affo Toffey promised ongoing support for the NPP MP and confirmed that she had already donated GHS20,000 during the gathering, with a commitment to pay the remaining amount upon her return to Parliament. The NDC executives are urging the party's national leadership to take disciplinary action against Affo Toffey for her actions. Additionally, they are demanding that Affo Toffey return to Savelugu to apologize to NDC supporters in the constituency. They also insist that she make a donation equal to or exceeding the amount she gave to the NPP MP to the NDC leadership in the area.
