Kumasi: The former National Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita Desoso, has issued a sharp critique against the current NDC government and some of its appointees. She has accused them of marginalizing loyal party members and allegedly selling appointments and contracts to affiliates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Ghana Web, Madam De Sooso expressed her deep disappointment during her appearance on 'The Platform,' a social-political show broadcasted on Angel FM Kumasi. Her comments were a response to what she believes is a betrayal of the NDC's grassroots supporters.
The former Vice Chairperson's discontent was further fueled by the recent election of Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings to the vice presidency of the Pan African Parliament. While acknowledging the achievement, Desoso argued that many dedicated NDC members, including the Korle Klottey MP, are being overlooked for key roles within the current administration.
In addition to the alleged sidelining of party members, Anita Desoso claimed that slots for various sector deployments are being sold to NPP members, neglecting the loyal NDC members who were supposed to receive these opportunities freely.
She lamented that appointment slots are controversially given to opposition NPP individuals, calling for awareness and recognition of the contributions made by the NDC's dedicated members.
Desoso suggested that Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings's elevation serves as a symbolic sign, likening it to the biblical notion of rejected stones becoming the cornerstone.
In a candid outburst, she accused certain individuals, identified as NPP infiltrators within the NDC, of being responsible for national issues such as the ongoing power crisis, known locally as 'dumsor,' and other challenges.
De Sooso urged the NDC leadership to address these internal problems and appealed to party members to focus on grassroots issues before the situation worsens.
Concluding her statements, she called for increased vigilance among the NDC leadership to purify the system by removing saboteurs, aiming to ensure proper governance.
