Accra: Mr Alfred Believe Ahiatsi, a National Communication Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has declared his intention to contest for the position of Volta Regional Organiser of the party. Mr Ahiatsi, who served as the Volta Regional Coordinator for the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia Identifiable Group Campaign during the 2024 general elections, says his aspiration is driven by a strong desire to strengthen the party's structures and expand its grassroots support across the Volta Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Ahiatsi indicated in an interview that his vision is to contribute to empowering communities through inclusive development, social justice, and active community engagement, while working to ensure a brighter future for the people of the region. He stressed the importance of effective leadership within the party structure as essential for mobilising members, strengthening unity, and building strong partnerships that can drive development and political growth.
Mr Ahiatsi outlined a number of priorities he intends to pursue if given the mandate by party delegates. Under enhancing social services, he mentioned his support for initiatives that promote improved access to quality healthcare, education, and social welfare programmes for communities across the region. He also emphasised the importance of promoting community engagement, noting that encouraging citizen participation, inclusivity, and transparency in decision-making processes would strengthen trust and collaboration among party members and the public.
Another key focus of his agenda is building strategic partnerships with stakeholders, organisations, and government agencies to leverage resources, share expertise, and promote development initiatives that benefit the Volta Region. Mr Ahiatsi further stressed the need to create equal opportunities for all, adding that inclusive leadership and fair participation within the party would help strengthen the NPP's presence in the region. He expressed confidence that with unity, dedication, and effective grassroots mobilisation, the party could continue to grow and make meaningful contributions to the development of the Volta Region.
