Kumasi: Members of the National Association of Muslim Garment Designers (NAMGD) have conducted a clean-up exercise at the Kumasi Central Mosque in preparation for Ramadan. The initiative is part of the group's periodic efforts to ensure the mosque is ready for worship and to uphold Islamic principles of hygiene and cleanliness ahead of significant events such as Ramadan.
According to Ghana News Agency, the group focused on various areas, including the mosque's interior, its surroundings, drainage systems, and adjacent streets. They also took part in painting some sections of the mosque. Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Chiroma, Chairman of the Association, stated that this initiative is part of a larger strategy to enhance sanitation at the mosque following its recent renovation. He emphasized the Muslims' responsibility to maintain a clean environment alongside fostering the community's spiritual development.
Alhaji Chiroma urged the Muslim community members who worship at the central mosque to avoid littering and improper disposal of waste materials in and around the premises. He expressed appreciation to those who contributed both materially and financially towards the success of this year's clean-up initiative. Sarki Alhaji Ali Abdulai Barry, the Asanteman Zongo Nkosuohene, who participated in the exercise, encouraged the participants to continue their service in the name of Allah, assuring them of divine rewards for their efforts.
