MTN Foundation Commissions STEM Library at Wiamoase.

Wiamoase: The MTN Ghana Foundation, a Corporate Social Responsibility management structure for MTN Group’s initiatives, has commissioned an Information Communication Technology (ICT) library in Wiamoase, a community in the Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region. The state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) library is designed to equip students with Information Technology (IT) skills, and it is the first of its kind in the Ashanti Region under the MTN Foundation’s CSR initiative.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Robert Kuzoe, the Head of MTN Ghana Foundation, emphasized their commitment to improving education and other important sectors of the economy. He highlighted that the Foundation is currently focused on three key areas: education, health, and economic empowerment, and encouraged students to take full advantage of this new opportunity.

Mr. Kuzoe assured that the Foundation aims to provide Ghanaian students in the districts with the same advantages as their peer
s in urban areas. Consequently, the library has been equipped with robotic equipment, laptops, and desktop computers to support STEM education. This initiative is part of a broader effort to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban students.

Nana Boakye Yiadom I, the Chief of Wiamoase, applauded MTN Ghana Foundation for introducing such a beneficial facility to the community. He noted that the library would enable students to embrace digital literacy and urged them to utilize the facility to learn digital skills. Furthermore, Nana Boakye Yiadom I advised the managers of the facility to implement effective measures to maintain it for future generations.
