Mr Beautiful Criticizes Ghana’s Creative Arts Agencies for Lack of Innovation

Accra: Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, widely recognized as Mr Beautiful, has raised concerns regarding the effectiveness of the nation's creative arts agencies, asserting that they are insufficiently contributing to the industry's development. Speaking on UTV's United Showbiz, Mr Beautiful urged stakeholders within the creative sector to introspect on their contributions to the sector's growth.

According to Ghana Web, Mr Beautiful expressed skepticism about the industry's current state, questioning whether those involved are truly being creative. He pointed out that despite having a president who supports the creative arts sector for the first time since 1992, there is a lack of proactive engagement from industry players. He warned that such supportive leadership may not always be available.

Mr Beautiful also highlighted that while the current administration has shown goodwill, the sector is not leveraging the opportunities presented. He noted that the inclusion of financial support for creative arts in the national budget raises several questions regarding its implementation and accessibility.

He questioned the structure of the financial allocation, expressing uncertainty about whether the funds are intended as loans or grants and what specific objectives they aim to fulfill. Mr Beautiful emphasized the need for creative arts agencies to adopt a more strategic and innovative approach to drive the sector forward.
