Accra: Miracles Aboagye, former presidential staffer and aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has publicly refuted claims that the Ministry of Food and Agriculture has received over 80% of its budget allocation. In a recent Facebook post, Aboagye stated unequivocally that the assertion is entirely unfounded, labeling it as a falsehood.
According to Ghana Web, Aboagye criticized the claims as misleading, accusing the Finance Ministry of spreading false information to the international community. He emphasized that the Ministry of Food and Agriculture is actively challenging the Finance Ministry to disclose the specific accounts where the purported funds were transferred.
Aboagye expressed his belief in the Agric Ministry's position, highlighting the inconsistencies in the financial figures being reported. He also drew attention to broader economic challenges, including the surge in fuel and utility prices, delayed payments to cocoa farmers, and the mounting cost of living.
Despite the official statistics presented by the Finance Ministry, Aboagye argued that the on-ground reality contradicts these claims. "I am inclined to believe the Agric Ministry in this matter," he affirmed, underlining his support for the ministry's stance.
