Accra: Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed his disappointment after his team suffered a 1-0 home defeat to TP Mazembe in the first qualifying round of the CAF Champions League. Tanko admitted that Medeama created several scoring opportunities but failed to convert them.
According to Ghana Web, Tanko emphasized the frustration of losing a home game but acknowledged the positive aspect of creating numerous chances. "If you lose a home game, definitely you will be disappointed. The good thing is that we created a lot of chances in which we would have scored some goals, but unfortunately we couldn't and that's football," he stated.
The coach mentioned that Medeama pushed for an equaliser in the second half but were punished on the counter-attack, which allowed Mazembe to score the only goal of the match. Tanko also recognized the team's ongoing struggles in finishing, a problem he believes can only be resolved through consistent practice. "I think there is only one way to solve that problem. You have to practice," he added.
