Accra:The marital relationship between Zakariah Abdul Rahaman, a Muslim cleric, and his wife, Amina Abdella, has reached a critical point, with their disagreements leading to potential divorce. This situation became public during an appearance on Lawson Afisem, a programme dedicated to resolving domestic disputes, broadcast on Lawson TV.
According to Ghana Web, Zakariah shared that their marriage is undergoing significant challenges, including ongoing legal battles involving his wife. The couple's three children have become central to their conflict, with custody being a major issue. Zakariah claims that Amina has taken custody of the children and refused his attempts to care for them, despite his willingness to fulfill his parental responsibilities. He also mentioned being reported to the police by Amina for allegedly neglecting his duties as a father, an accusation he denies.
Amina, when given the chance to present her perspective on the programme, accused Zakariah of neglecting his responsibilities as both a husband and a father. She revealed that one of their disputes began when she accidentally farted while he was performing his Islamic prayers. Amina stated that this incident occurred as she was preparing one of their children for school, and her husband's reaction was to express his anger by sharing the event with their neighbors, which she found embarrassing.
The situation, which has been exacerbated by this and other unresolved marital issues, continues to strain their relationship, contributing to the ongoing divorce proceedings.
