Kumasi: The Manhyia Palace has imposed an immediate ban on the unauthorised use of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles within the palace and surrounding areas.
According to Ghana Web, the directive was announced in a notice on the palace's Facebook page on Saturday, 15 August, 2026. It prohibits aerial operations within the designated area unless prior approval has been obtained from the palace or the appropriate authorities. The palace warned that drones operated without authorisation will be confiscated.
Operators who breach the directive could also face legal action, as stated in the notice. The Manhyia Palace has urged drone operators and users of unmanned aerial vehicles to secure the necessary clearance before conducting any aerial activities within the restricted area. The directive takes immediate effect.
