Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sapong as the Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service and Samuel Basintale Amadu as the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service. The ceremony marks a significant step in the leadership of these crucial national services.
According to Ghana News Agency, President Mahama tasked the newly appointed officials with the responsibility of providing decisive leadership while maintaining discipline and professionalism. They are expected to enhance the performance of their institutions, focusing on safeguarding the nation, strengthening emergency response capabilities, and improving border management systems.
Both Ntow Sarpong and Amadu were initially appointed in March 2025 as Acting Chief Fire Officer and Acting Comptroller-General, respectively. Their recent swearing-in by the President follows the approval of their appointments by the Governing Councils of their respective institutions.
