Lyon: President John Dramani Mahama, founder of the Accra Reset Initiative, is co-chairing the High-Level segment of the global One Health Summit alongside his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron. The event, held in Lyon, France, gathers world leaders, health ministers, and global experts to discuss solutions for strengthening health systems, sustainable food production, and coordinated responses to global health challenges.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement from Ghana's Presidency indicates that President Mahama will deliver two significant keynotes. The first speech will occur during a session on Global Health Architecture, co-chaired by President Macron and Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO). This session will focus on reforms to global health initiatives and the endorsement of a Political Declaration for international health cooperation. In his second keynote, President Mahama will open the High-Level segment for heads of state and government, where he will outline Ghana's vision and commitments on global health security. He will emphasize the nation's leadership in fostering collaborative, cross-sectoral solutions to emerging health threats.
