Kwaku Manu Attributes South Africa’s Issues to Economic Control by Whites

Accra: Outspoken Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu, has spoken out about the ongoing xenophobic attacks on some Ghanaians living in South Africa. In an interview with GhanaWeb's Joseph Henry Mensah on April 26, 2026, Manu emphasized that South Africa's problems do not stem from their fellow Black residents.

According to Ghana Web, Kwaku Manu explained that the primary issue in South Africa is the economic dominance by white men who control the major companies and the economy. He believes that it is crucial for South Africans to reflect on these core issues rather than targeting fellow Black individuals. Manu noted that while many companies in South Africa are under white ownership, the country needs to unite as Africans and address its true challenges.

"We should come together as Africans. We have a lot of South African companies in Ghana. They don't know how to confront their main issues because the Black man is not their problem, but the white men living in South Africa. However, they can't confront them because they are afraid of the aftermath," Manu stated.

He observed that despite Black leadership in the country, most properties remain under white ownership, which complicates the situation. Manu expressed hope that eventually, South Africans would come to understand and address their primary issues. Additionally, he advised citizens to seek employment opportunities rather than remaining idle, adding, "South Africans should look for jobs. God should also have mercy on all of us so they can understand their core problems."
