Kortsrala: Torgbui Doklo IV, a 37-year-old farmer, and Mama Dzenawo II have been enstooled as the sub-Chief and Queenmother of Kortsrala, a farming community in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Torgbui Doklo IV is known in private life as Mr Emmanuel Suka, while Mama Dzenawo II is known as Fausty Tsieme. The coronation ceremony, held at Kortsrala, attracted traditional rulers from neighbouring communities, elders, youth groups, women's associations, and residents, all gathering to witness the occasion marked by drumming, dancing, and traditional rites.
In an interview, Torgbui Doklo IV expressed his commitment to working closely with the elders, opinion leaders, and the youth to develop the community. He stated that development is a shared responsibility, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective effort to improve Kortsrala's socio-economic conditions.
'I will liaise with all stakeholders, including the youth and elders, to plan and implement initiatives that will bring progress to our community. Development cannot be achieved by one person alone,' Torgbui Doklo IV remarked, highlighting his priorities such as promoting peaceful coexistence, supporting agriculture, and advocating for better social amenities like education, healthcare, and roads.
He encouraged residents, both local and abroad, to support his leadership by contributing ideas and resources towards community development. Mama Dzenawo II, the newly enstooled Queenmother, urged women and the youth to support traditional authority and actively participate in community development, particularly in child welfare, education, and sanitation.
The elders and youth of Kortsrala expressed their joy at the successful installation of the Chief and Queenmother, pledging their unwavering support to help them succeed in their leadership roles. They conveyed confidence that the new traditional leaders would bring unity, peace, and development to the community.
The ceremony concluded with goodwill messages from neighbouring chiefs and well-wishers, who encouraged the new leaders to rule with wisdom, humility, and fairness.
