Dar es salaam: The inaugural Punchline International Comedy Festival (PICF) is set to bring a week of laughter and cultural unity from May 25 to May 30, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This event, organized by Punchline Africa under the theme "Uniting Africa Through Comedy," will feature top stand-up comedians hailing from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Togo, Ghana, and South Africa.
According to Ghana Web, the festival will offer a rich itinerary including professional writers' rooms, comedy workshops, open mic nights, and localized pop-up activations. The week-long celebration will culminate in two major events: Bwaga Manyanga, an all-Swahili comedy night on May 29 at the PSSSF Commercial Complex in Ubungo, and The Grand Finale, an all-English showcase on May 30 at The Superdome in Masaki.
