Accra: KGL, a headline sponsor of the Ghana Black Stars, has reaffirmed its commitment to the Republic of Ghana, dismissing those who attempt to undermine indigenous businesses. The company has emphasized that renegotiations concerning the NLA-KGL deal will not be conducted through social media or public platforms, but through formal national exercises.
According to Ghana News Agency, a statement by Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, addressed to the Ghana News Agency, criticized the Fourth Estate for allegedly being economical with the truth regarding the NLA-KGL deal. The statement highlighted that the Fourth Estate has consistently called for the abrogation of the deal, labeling it as terrible without providing substantial evidence or reasonable conclusions.
The statement mentioned that in response to concerns, the President of Ghana established a Committee to ensure transparency and accountability. This Committee recommended a stay on the contract and a renegotiation of the financial terms to benefit the Republic, not just the NLA. Contrary to claims by the Fourth Estate, the Committee's conclusions did not align with their published allegations against KGL.
KGL accused the Fourth Estate of labeling the deal as terrible and calling for its abrogation rather than renegotiation. The statement urged opponents not to pressure the Committee, emphasizing the importance of allowing it to conduct its work professionally without interference.
The statement concluded by stating that all parties involved in the renegotiation are committed to the process, recognizing the urgency while adhering to the legal rights of each party.
