Afife: Mr Ignatius Amaglo, Ketu North Municipal Director of NHIS, has announced that the team will participate in the 2026 Afife Annual Nyigbla Festival to provide registration services for residents and festival patrons. The outreach program is scheduled to take place from February 12 to 14 at the Afife EP Primary School, operating from 0800 to 2000 hours each day.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Amaglo explained that the initiative aims to make NHIS services more accessible to the community. It will allow residents to register, renew, replace, or update their membership details. A key feature of this outreach is the issuance of linked NHIS and Ghana Cards for children aged six to 14 years. Mr Amaglo encouraged residents to bring their Ghana Cards to access these services.
In addition, the NHIS has reiterated its commitment to supporting individuals with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), designating February as a month of compassion in action. The recent support provided to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund highlights NHIS's empathetic leadership and determination to ensure no Ghanaian with NCDs is neglected. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden on patients and families, offering hope to those dealing with chronic illnesses.
The NHIS has also urged institutions, organizations, and individuals to come together in support of people living with NCDs, emphasizing that community efforts are essential in making a difference. It called for practical demonstrations of support and care towards vulnerable individuals in Ghana.
