According to Ghana News Agency, the zonal contest was held at Mawuli School in Ho, bringing together competitive second-cycle institutions from the two regions. KETASCO competed against Mawuli School and OLA Senior High School (SHS) in a challenging category, while schools such as Agate SHS, Awudome SHS, Dzodze SHS, and Tsito SHS participated in another group. Akpafu SHS, Kadjebi-Asato SHS, Kete-Krachi SHS, Bueman SHS, and Oti SHS were in the remaining groups.
After three rounds of presentations, KETASCO achieved the highest score of 206 points, surpassing Mawuli School with 190 points and OLA SHS with 162 points. This year's competition, themed 'Sexual and Reproductive Health of the Adolescent Child,' tasked each school with a sub-topic. KETASCO's presentation focused on 'Aligning Sexual and Reproductive Health Policies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).'
The assessment criteria included content, public speaking skills, policy recommendations, and creativity. KETASCO's all-female team, consisting of Miss Sheila Quarshie, Miss Hilda Amable, Miss Sheena Amakie, and Miss Jessica Michella Akakpo, delivered a notable presentation that was well-received by judges and the audience.
The team's success was guided by coaches Mr. Edem Akpornorvi, Miss Irine Agbolosu, and Mr. Bright Datsomor, who prepared the students through rigorous research, rehearsals, and internal competitions. Mr. Akpornorvi, the Team Coordinator, attributed the victory to hard work and discipline, acknowledging the support from the school community.
With this victory, KETASCO will represent the Volta-Oti Zone at the national level, along with Awudome SHS and Bueman SHS. This marks the third consecutive time KETASCO has participated in the national finals, following a third-place finish in the previous competition. The achievement further solidifies KETASCO's status as a leading academic institution in Ghana, known for its excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities.
