Ashanti gold: Ashanti Gold S.C head coach Karim Zito has thrown his support behind Kwasi Sibo, asserting that footballers must advocate for their financial interests.
According to Ghana Web, Zito, in an interview with 3Sports, emphasized that the primary purpose of playing football is to earn money and ensure a better future for players and their families. He publicly supported Sibo, stating, "I'm 100% behind Kwasi Sibo. If you don't fight for yourself now, nobody will fight for you."
Zito also expressed his disappointment with unfulfilled promises made to former Black Stars players, including commitments of houses following Ghana's AFCON triumphs. He questioned the motives behind playing football when such promises remain unmet, highlighting the importance of financial security for athletes: "Even when Ghana won the AFCON, they promised to be given houses; it did not come. What is the motive of playing football?"
