Accra:Former Ghana U-20 coach Karim Zito has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to consider appointing a local coach as the next head coach of the Black Stars.
According to Ghana Web, Zito emphasized that hiring a Ghanaian coach would not only provide local coaches the chance to demonstrate their capabilities but also reduce the financial strain of employing foreign coaches.
Zito pointed to Senegal as a successful example, highlighting how the country has placed trust in its own coaches and benefited as a result. He stressed that local coaches would bring dedication to the role, prioritizing success over financial gain.
He further noted that developing and trusting Ghanaian coaches could alleviate the GFA's financial pressures associated with foreign appointments.
