Accra: Following ongoing discussions about legal vacation in Ghana's judiciary system, a new document has been revealed, detailing the judges assigned to work during this period. This comes in the wake of a dispute sparked by private legal practitioner Samuel Atta Akyea's refusal to attend court, citing his entitlement to a legal vacation.
According to Ghana Web, the document, which surfaced on X on August 13, 2026, is signed by Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie. It outlines the judges who will be active and hearing cases during the legal vacation period.
The document specifies that Court of Appeal Justice Charity Akosua Asem will also serve as a High Court judge during this time. Additionally, Justice Francis Apangabuno Achibonga, the High Court judge currently overseeing the case of former National Signal Bureau Director-General Kwabena Adu-Boahen, is named as one of the judges scheduled to sit during the vacation period.
