Anloga: Mr Joseph Kwaku Kpattah has been unanimously retained as the Presiding Member (PM) of the Anloga District Assembly, securing a third consecutive term in office.
According to Ghana News Agency, the election was conducted in compliance with Section 17 of the Local Government Act 936 (2016), which mandates that a presiding member must be elected by a two-thirds majority of all members present and voting. The process was witnessed by all 42 assembly members, district officials, traditional leaders, and key stakeholders within the district.
Mr Kpattah, who ran unopposed, received a unanimous endorsement from the Assembly members, highlighting the confidence in his leadership. The election process was facilitated by officials from the Electoral Commission (EC), and the results were officially declared by Madam Evely Wutor, the District Director of the EC.
The event was attended by distinguished observers, including the District Coordinating Director, the District Chief Executive, and other senior officials of the Anloga District Assembly. In his acceptance speech, Mr Kpattah expressed his gratitude to the assembly members for their continued trust in his leadership.
Mr Kpattah stated, "I am deeply honoured by this unanimous endorsement. I pledge to continue working hand in hand with all development stakeholders, traditional authorities, and community members to advance the growth and prosperity of the Anloga District. Together, we will ensure that our communities benefit from inclusive development and improved governance."
The re-election of Mr Kpattah is viewed as a vote of confidence in his commitment to participatory governance and development-oriented leadership. Stakeholders have expressed optimism that his tenure will further strengthen the district's institutional frameworks and community engagement initiatives.
In addition to his role as Presiding Member, Mr Kpattah is a professional teacher at the Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO). He has served as the Assembly member for the Blemazado electoral area and was elected as Presiding Member since the creation of the district.
