Tikobo Number One (W/R)The Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro, Mr. Paul Essien, has rewarded some civil servants for dedicated service and contribution to development of the area.
They received items including television sets with in-built decoder and dish, fridges, laptop computers and i-Pads.
The District Magistrate Court was also presented with a motorbike and an air conditioner, while the Education and Health Directorates got three desk computers, each.
This came on the heels of the May Day celebration and aimed to motivate the workers to give it their all to speed up the area’s development.
Mr. Essien said it was to recognize the effort and the significant contribution they were making to bring progress to the district.
It should be a reminder to everybody that hard work and dedication would not go unnoticed.
He used the ceremony to distribute sewing machines and dryers to 60 apprentice hairdressers and dressmakers who had completed their training.
This was to aid them to start their own businesses to become economically self-supporting.
The MP appealed to the workers to eschew any poor work habit, to help increase productivity to move the area forward.
