Johnson, Trudeau poke fun at Putin during first session of G7 summit

Elmau, Germany, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, poked fun at Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, during the first working session of a three-day G7 summit in the Bavarian Alps.

Seated around a round table alongside the six other G7 leaders, Johnson was heard asking whether he should keep his suit jacket on before saying: “We all have to show that we’re tougher than Putin.”

Trudeau added that that would require a “bare-chested horseback ride,” a reference to Putin’s stage-managed photo shoots, during one of which he was pictured riding a horse without a shirt.
