Obuasi – The Indonesian Consulate in Ghana, in collaboration with several partners, has extended a helping hand to flood victims in Mepe by donating essential relief items. This humanitarian gesture was conducted in partnership with Peace Indo Ghana, Wings Group, Mensa Group, the Indonesian Community in Ghana, Indonesia Africa Trade Mission- IndoAfrica Trade, Rig Oil International Services (ROIS) Ltd, and Rois Travels Ltd subsidiaries of Rois Group Limited.
According to Ghana News Agency, led by Mr. Paskal A.B Rois, the Honorary Consul for Indonesia to Ghana, his wife Mrs. Gifty Etsa Rois, CEO of Rois Travels, and Reverend Sister Sri Supadmi from Indonesia, the initiative aimed to convey care and support from the Indonesian community to the flood victims in Ghana. The relief items included cartons of detergents, brand new clothes and blankets, oil, and rice.
Mr. Rois pledged ongoing support from his office, indicating that the Embassy plans to create avenues for providing more relief and assistance, particularly for students severely affected by the flood.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, received the donations on behalf of the flood victims. He expressed profound gratitude to the Ambassador and his entourage for their significant contribution, noting that the gesture from the Ambassador and the Indonesian community brought great relief to those affected by the floods.
In addition to the donation, the Ambassador’s entourage visited local schools, offering encouragement to students to continue their studies despite the challenges. They reassured the students those efforts are being made to address their educational challenges, highlighting the ongoing commitment of the Indonesian Consulate and its partners to support the local community in times of need.
