Accra, Ghana: Dr. Sam Ankrah, an Independent Presidential Aspirant, has clarified the ethos behind his ‘No Masked Promises’ campaign, emphasizing its role in fostering accountable leadership. The campaign, recently launched on social media, has been designed to promote transparency and reject deceptive political tactics.

According to Ghana News Agency, Head of Communications at the Office of the Independent Presidential Candidate, the campaign’s symbolic ‘unmasking’ represents a break from the veiled intentions of past and present governments. It serves as a call to unveil the true intentions of leaders and hold them accountable for their promises.

In response to allegations that he claimed to be the originator of the ‘Man in the Mask’ campaign, Dr. Ankrah categorically denied such claims, urging those accusing him to retract their statements. In a statement issued on Friday and shared with the Ghana News Agency, Dr. Ankrah explained that his campaign slogan ‘NoMaskedPromises’ symbolizes a rejection of political gimmicks and falsehoods traditionally used to garner votes.

Dr. Ankrah emphasized that the mask used in his campaign is a stock image generated by artificial intelligence, available in the public domain, and its usage is not intended to infringe on any intellectual property rights. The ‘No Masked Promises’ campaign, he stated, is a transformative journey aimed at bringing transparency and accountability to Ghanaian leadership, principles that should be a unifying force across all political movements.

Looking towards the 2024 political season, Dr. Ankrah’s campaign invites citizens and political stakeholders to engage in open and honest dialogue. The campaign’s philosophy is built on reshaping Ghana’s political landscape, fostering a future where leaders are transparent and fulfill their commitments.

Dr. Ankrah also called on the youth to familiarize themselves with his policies, which aim to address economic hardship, corruption, social inequalities, and lack of rule of law, and to contribute to stability in Ghana.
