Takoradi-based hiplife/hiphop artiste, Stephen Siaw, popularly known in the music scene as Ayesem says he’s struggling to cope financially as a celebrity in Ghana.

The former Shocks Entertainment signee mentioned that after exiting his record label, it has been extremely difficult to manage his finances as an individual.

In an interview on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM, the ‘Koti’ hitmaker emphatically declared that doing things on his own has become difficult, especially the monetary aspects.

Ayesem, who sometime ago complained bitterly about some DJs refusal to promote local music said, “Doing stuff on my own is difficult, especially the financial aspects isn’t that easy for me, but then I still have guys who are closer to me and we work together.”

“Financially, it’s not easy for me to cope since I exited Shocks Entertainment, so it’s quite difficult but still the passion keeps me moving all the time,” he added.

Credited with several awards and hit songs, the rapper kicked off his career as a member of the group ‘Trinity’ in 2006. He later formed a music group called ‘2Unit’ with fellow artiste, Nero X.

As a group, their songs received massive radio airplay in the Western and Central regions of Ghana.

Ayesem, who recently criticised radio DJs and presenters for failing to promote his music, has had major collaborations with artistes such as Castro, Old Solja, Kurl Songx, Kofi Kinaata, Epixode, Singlet and a host of others.

He has released a number of hit tunes that have won the hearts of music lovers. Among them is the banger, ‘Koti’, ‘Envy’, ‘Kokotii’, ‘Against’, among others.
