Istanbul: Ghanaian defender Kojo Peprah Oppong has revealed that he did not speak to former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah before completing his move to Turkish giants Fenerbah§e. Oppong, who impressed during his time at Nice and at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, was asked whether he had contacted Appiah before joining the club, given the former midfielder's legendary status at Fenerbah§e.
According to Ghana Web, the 21-year-old, speaking with Fenerbah§e club's media, admitted that he would have loved to speak with Appiah but does not have direct contact with the Ghanaian football icon. Appiah remains one of the most celebrated Ghanaian players in Fenerbah§e's history, having represented the Turkish club between 2005 and 2008.
