I will love to see an African country lifting the FIFA World Cup – Patrice Evra

Former Uefa Champions League winner, Patrice Evra is backing an African country to lift the FIFA World Cup trophy in the future.

Today, the retired French international paid a courtesy call on the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra.

During his engagement with the President, Patrice Evra disclosed that he has been to several African countries and realized that the perceptions about the continent are all lies.

He said he has decided to help change the many bad perceptions including the claims that Africa is a country of poverty.

Patrice Evra, 41, also said he hopes that one day an African country will win the FIFA World Cup tournament.

“My dream now is also to change the image of Africa. That’s why I have been to Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, and now Ghana.

“My dream like I said is maybe one African team will one day will win the World Cup. It’s not my last time I’m going to be here. It’s such a beautiful country and thanks for having us,” the former Manchester United defender said.

Patrice Evra is currently in Ghana for a three-day special visit to the country as part of the build-up to the World Cup in Qatar by Chipper.
