Accra: Ohenini Adazoa, host of Ahenfie Afutuo Show, resorted to unconventional tactics to extract details from a lady identified as Vera who slandered her mother, Auntie Felicia, and other relatives on the programme. Vera, who, according to the account of her uncle who called into the show, has been troubling her mother and relatives with her bad behaviour, had appeared on the show claiming her family had neglected her.
According to Ghana Web, Vera claimed that she had to sleep with men to feed herself as a result of the neglect of her family. In snippets from the show widely circulated on social media, Ohenini interrogated her after engaging her family members via telephone calls. Through the account of her uncle, it emerged that she had refused to undertake household chores or support her mother in her plantain business. The uncle alleged that Vera had refused to even learn a trade after repeated attempts by her mother to engage her in apprenticeship. "All attempts by her mother to get her to learn a trade have proven futile. In some cases, her mother paid for the apprenticeship but she never turned up for the training," he alleged.
Vera, who had earlier been supported with Ghc1,000.00 by the producers of the show, vehemently denied the allegations. Her mood suddenly changed when they decided to call her mother and older sister to ascertain the facts about the matter. While she repeatedly denied the allegations without any proper justification for her actions, the host stopped her at one point, threatening to hit her teeth with a gavel she had been using in the studio. "If you do not keep quiet, I will collapse your kiss me quick teeth with this (gavel). You have been a recalcitrant child. Go back to your mother and apologize for all that you've put her through and change your ways or else you could have a difficult life. She is your mother and will welcome you back," she advised her.
The tearful Vera admitted to her bad behaviour and used the platform to apologize for her actions, promising to turn over a new leaf.
