Sanaa: Yemen's Houthi group declared on Sunday that it is prepared to intensify its military activities should the United States and Israel recommence assaults on Iran and the so-called 'axis of resistance.'
According to Ghana News Agency, the foreign ministry of the unrecognized Houthi-run government in Sanaa emphasized that the determination of the Iranian negotiator at the negotiating table signifies a new victory for the Islamic Republic and the axis of jihad and resistance, as reported by the state-run Saba news agency.
The statement further warned that any escalation instigated by the U.S. in the region, particularly at sea, could adversely affect supply chains, energy prices, and consequently, the global economy.
Since late March, the Houthis have been launching missiles and drones towards Israel in a show of support for 'allied forces' in the region, which include entities in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Palestine, amidst escalating regional tensions.
The group has maintained control over Sanaa and most of northern Yemen since late 2014 and showed support for Iran during last year's 12-day conflict involving the United States and Israel.
