Accra: Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the Member of Parliament for Ho West, is poised to initiate a significant educational infrastructure development across the district. On Monday, February 16, he will launch multiple school infrastructure projects, aiming to enhance educational facilities through coordinated efforts with district authorities and national leadership.
According to Ghana News Agency, the mega-sod-cutting ceremony will mark the beginning of several major educational infrastructure projects throughout the district. Mr. Bedzrah will be joined by Mr. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, along with district officials, traditional leaders, and representatives from beneficiary schools. The planned projects include a two-storey dormitory block, a two-storey administration block, and a two-storey classroom block, all aimed at increasing capacity in various senior high and technical schools within the constituency.
The ceremonies will take place at Amedzofe College of Education and Awudome Senior High School (AWUSCO), with a focus on improving educational access and learning conditions. Mr. Bedzrah stated that the initiative aligns with President John Mahama's development vision, emphasizing that quality education infrastructure remains a priority for the Reset Government.
At Tsito Senior High Technical School, the MP will break ground for a new dining hall with a kitchen block, with similar facilities planned for Awudome SHS, Avatime SHS, and Anfoeta Technical Institute. Additional projects include a two-storey boys' dormitory for Abutia Senior High School, 12-unit classroom blocks for Akome SHS, Amedzofe Technical Institute, Saviefe Technical School, and Avenui Technical Institute, as well as a 6-unit teachers' bungalow at Abutia Adegbleve DA Primary School.
In Dzolo, the MP will announce the construction of a four-kilometre fence wall and a two-storey administration block for Dzolo Senior High School, along with new classroom blocks for Bame EP Basic School and Dzolokpuita Salvation Army Basic School. Infrastructure support will also be provided to basic schools, with plans for a new KG block and ancillary facilities at Dzolokpuita, a six-unit classroom block for Tsito Methodist JHS, and a three-unit classroom block for Kpedze Islamic School.
Mr. Bedzrah emphasized that these projects are designed to 'transform the education landscape in Ho West,' highlighting that investment in school infrastructure will directly enhance teaching and learning outcomes. He expressed gratitude to stakeholders, including the Ho West District Assembly led by Mr. Francis Dusey, for their collaboration and support in improving infrastructure at all levels of education.
The MP urged beneficiary communities to take ownership of the facilities once completed, stressing that maintenance and responsible use are essential for sustaining long-term development gains.
