Kumasi: The Ho Municipal Assembly has supported Mawuleme Movement with logistics to boost ongoing community sanitation efforts in the municipality. The support forms part of measures by the Assembly to promote environmental cleanliness and encourage community participation in waste management activities.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Stephen Adom, the Municipal Chief Executive, commended the group for its dedication to keeping Ho clean, describing their efforts as inspiring and impactful. "Their hard work and commitment to environmental sanitation are commendable. Let us all be inspired to play our part," he said.
He noted that the Assembly's intervention included the provision of tools such as pickaxes, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and tricycles to support clean-up exercises. Mr. Prince Amevi, Executive Director for the Mawuleme Movement, expressed gratitude to the MCE, stating that the gesture demonstrated recognition and support for community-driven initiatives.
"You have shown that you value our efforts and are always willing to support. This is not just rhetoric, but a practical step towards a clean Ho," he said. He disclosed that the group's next major task would be desilting gutters in front of the Goil Filling Station at the Ho Market, and appealed to corporate bodies, private individuals, and the youth to join the campaign to make Ho one of the cleanest cities in Ghana.
