Accra: Ghanaian music executive, Nii Noi, has urged the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to enhance its stakeholder engagement efforts to tackle the recurring price hikes and related challenges during the ‘December in Ghana’ festivities. Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM on January 12, 2026, Nii Noi stressed that the GTA should not delay action until December, highlighting the urgency of the issue.
According to Ghana Web, Nii Noi pointed out that recent issues involving foreign artists, price controls, and logistical challenges underscore the need for proactive planning. He noted that the GTA should address these concerns by engaging with stakeholders early and seeking solutions to these problems.
Nii Noi also underscored the importance of involving owners and leaders of major pubs and hospitality establishments before the festive season begins. He emphasized the need for discussions with these stakeholders to help them understand the significance of the ‘December in Ghana’ initiative.
Furthermore, he mentioned that many of these establishments benefit from the increased tourist influx but do not directly contribute to attracting visitors. Nii Noi highlighted the importance of making these businesses aware that they are part of a larger ecosystem that supports the initiative, and thus they stand to benefit from it.
