Takoradi: The JUSTMOH Construction Limited, the contractor responsible for the 23-kilometre Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta dual carriageway, announced that the government has cleared all Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) concerning the project's execution.
According to Ghana News Agency, this financial clearance follows President John Dramani Mahama's directive in December last year, where he instructed the Finance Ministry to disburse approximately $78 million to address the outstanding IPCs related to the dualisation of the Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta road.
Mr. Johan Prinsloo, Project Manager at JUSTMOH Construction Ltd, confirmed the payment to journalists, expressing that it will facilitate the project's completion ahead of schedule. He reported that significant progress has been made, with the completion of major earthworks, concrete work, culverts, and bridges.
He explained, "We have completed all our major earthworks, concrete work, culverts, as well as the four bridges on the entire project corridor. Our sub-base and base are also completed for the entire project corridor, and the only work outstanding is three kilometres of road work that we are currently doing at Apowa, Bokoro, Ewusiejoe, and Aboadi."
Mr. Prinsloo also mentioned that structures within the right-of-way in the four towns along the road have been demolished, and they aim to finish the entire dualisation project by mid-year.
