Keta: Madam Aurelia Tudzi, Girls' Education Officer at the Keta Municipal Education Directorate, has highlighted the transformative impact of educating girls, asserting that it possesses the potential to change families, communities, and nations.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Tudzi, speaking at the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at Keta E.P. Basic School and Vodza R.C. Basic School, referenced the biblical story of Mary, who bore Jesus Christ, as a testament to the capabilities and divine purpose of girls. She emphasized that Mary's story illustrates how supported and educated girls can effect positive change.
Madam Tudzi encouraged girls to pursue their dreams, describing education as a guiding light for their future. She commended parents and guardians for supporting their daughters' education, stressing that investing in girls' education benefits not only individuals but entire nations. She also addressed boys, urging them to take care of themselves and be open to divine guidance, paralleling Joseph's biblical experience.
The festival, attended by learners, staff, clergy, and education stakeholders, marked the Christmas season with scripture readings, traditional carols, and musical performances. Rev. Fr. Eric Donaldson Kwashie, Parish Priest of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Vodza, spoke on the boundless joy of Christmas, warning against hypocrisy, which he termed 'Herod's disease.'
