Accra: President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has expressed confidence in the Black Stars' trajectory following their performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ghana managed to reach the second round of the tournament, held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, after finishing third in their group, which included England, Croatia, and Panama. Their journey concluded with a defeat to Colombia.
According to Ghana Web, Okraku highlighted that the team's overall performance provided evidence of significant progress. Despite entering the tournament as the lowest-ranked team among the 48 participating nations, Ghana advanced beyond the group stage. Okraku emphasized the importance of the Black Stars' resilience and potential, noting that their rise to the 24th-ranked team by the end of the competition was a testament to their development.
The GFA President acknowledged that while the team had aspirations of advancing further, the tournament revealed promising signs. Okraku's optimism was bolstered by the improvement in Ghana's ranking, which he views as indicative of the team's forward momentum.
