Ghana’s 4×100 quartet set new national record at World Athletics Championships

– Ghana’s men’s 4×100 quartet set a new national record after clocking 38.07s in the relay finals at this year’s World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America (USA).

The quartet, comprising of Sean Safo-Antwi, Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Oduro Manu and Joseph Paul Amoah, placed fifth and missed out on a medal.

The quartet broke their own record of 38.08s, which was set at the Tokyo Olympics last year.

Sarfo-Antwi made a blistering start to the race with a time of 10.84s, while Azamati clocked 9.04, Oduro Manu on the third leg delivered 9.27s and Amoah finished off with 8.92s.

Team Ghana couldn’t win a medal at this year’s World Athletics Championships, and have never won a medal at the championships, having made their debut in 1983.
