Ghana Water Company Supports Flood Victims with Water Supplies

North Tongu – The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has made a significant donation to assist those affected by the recent Akosombo Dam spillage in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region. Collaborating with its Head Office, the Volta Regional Directorate of the Company provided essential water supplies to the flood victims.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Regional Chief Manager who led the team from the Volta Regional Office, the donation comprised 2,000 bags of sachet water and 100 packs of bottled water. This initiative is part of the Company’s corporate social responsibility and aims to alleviate the suffering of the affected individuals.

Mr. Lamptey emphasized the importance of access to quality water, especially during crises, to promote good health. He noted that the water supplied, produced under the Company’s G-WATER subsidiary, is of high quality and would help prevent waterborne diseases among the victims.

Highlighting the Company’s commitment to its customers, Mr. Lamptey stated that GWCL values its customers, acknowledging their crucial role in the Company’s existence and success. He assured that GWCL is concerned about the well-being of the people and is committed to supporting them with potable water.

The items were received by Mr. Divine Osborn Fenu, the District Chief Executive, and Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for the area. Mr. Fenu expressed gratitude to GWCL for their support and ensured that the water supplies would be distributed to the affected persons to help mitigate their challenges.

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa also showed appreciation for the Company’s efforts in mobilizing resources to aid the victims. He commended various individuals, organizations, and the country at large for their rapid response and provision of relief items to those impacted by the flood.
