Ghana Taekwondo Federation Appoints New Communications Officer

Accra: The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) has officially appointed Prince Ayim Brown, a seasoned journalist and sports media expert, as its new Communications Officer, effective September 7, 2026. The announcement was made by the Secretary-General, Kankpenuba Peter Nuntaa Wisdom, and the appointment is set to last for an initial period of two years. According to Ghana Web, Brown's new role will involve leading the Federation's communication and publicity efforts. He will work closely with the leadership, Regional Associations, clubs, and media partners to enhance the Federation's public engagement and visibility. His responsibilities include coordinating official communications, managing social media and digital platforms, documenting activities, preparing press releases, and promoting the achievements of Taekwondo in Ghana. Brown's appointment aims to support stronger engagement between the Federation and the media, ensuring consistent and professional coverage of GTF activities and the achievements of i ts athletes, coaches, and officials. With over 15 years of experience in journalism, Brown's career has included broadcast journalism, sports reporting, news production, and media management. He has notable experience with Global Media Alliance, Happy FM, ETV Ghana, and Amansan Television (ATV). His extensive journalism career encompasses coverage of significant sports events such as the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the 2026 African Athletics Championship. As a member of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), Brown holds a BSc in Strategic Communications from the African University College of Communications (AUCC). The GTF is confident that his experience will enhance their communication systems and media engagement. Upon accepting the role, Brown expressed gratitude to the Federation's leadership for their trust and committed to collaborating with the GTF leadership and stakeholders to advance the sport. All stakeholders are encouraged t o direct communication-related matters through his office. The Federation also acknowledged the contributions of the former Public Relations Officer.
