Ghana Prepares to Memorialize Late Actress Beverly Afaglo

Accra: Beverly Ama Afaglo would have turned 43 today, a day that was meant to be filled with celebration. Born on May 28, 1983, in the Volta Region, Beverly passed away on May 24, 2026, at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema after a two-year battle with cancer. Instead of birthday festivities, Ghana is preparing to observe her one-week memorial.

According to Ghana Web, Beverly's husband, Eugene Baah, also known as Choirmaster of the hiplife group Praye, shared the news of her passing, expressing the timing as a divine celebration. "It would have been just four more days to your birthday. But I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you," he stated.

Beverly's contributions to the entertainment industry are remembered by her colleagues and friends. Actor John Dumelo recalls how Beverly recommended him for a pivotal role nearly two decades ago, a gesture that significantly impacted his career. Music producer Kaywa shared that he prayed with her every evening during her illness.

Beverly's career was marked by versatility. A graduate of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, she excelled as an actress, television presenter, radio host, beauty therapist, and entrepreneur. Despite surviving a house fire that destroyed her belongings, she continued to move forward.

Her family, including her mother, sisters, and children, were by her side until her final moments. They plan to gather on May 30, 2026, for her one-week observation, a moment to honor her life and legacy.
