Former Ghana international, Frimpong Manso has praised the Black Stars for their performance at the just-ended 2022 World Cup despite the early exit.
The Black Stars, who were making their fourth Mundial appearance in Qatar exited the tournament at the group phase with just three points.
Ghana needed a draw against Uruguay in the final group game to book a place in the last 16 but lost 2-0.
However, Manso has praised the players for their fighting spirit.
“The results weren’t that good but when it comes to individual performance then we can say that some were encouraging. Their first time of playing at the World Cup and when you look at the performances individual some produced I think we can say that was good,” he told Peace FM.
“For me, we can’t throw everything away and say everything was not good for us. We should take this as a fresh start and we can get some players from this squad and moving forward we can plan with them and then the next four years we can make a better team,” he added.
Meanwhile, Otto Addo has resigned from his role as the head coach of the team after the country’s elimination.
