‘Ghana Gave Me the Opportunity to Succeed’ – ZondaTec CEO Reflects

Accra: Chinese businesswoman and Chief Executive Officer of ZondaTec Ghana Limited, Yang Yang, has described Ghana as 'heaven' compared to the difficult conditions she experienced while growing up in China. Speaking during a meeting with policymakers in a video shared by graphic.com.gh on X, the entrepreneur said many Ghanaians often fail to appreciate the peace and opportunities the country offers.

According to Ghana Web, Yang Yang expressed her sentiments by stating, 'I was in China, but we made it. In which country? We made it in Ghana,' highlighting her successful business journey and life experiences. She noted her surprise at the criticism directed towards the government, insisting that Ghana remains a far better place than many people realize.

Yang Yang's reflections on her past reveal a story of resilience and determination. She shared that she came from a poor rural background in China, enduring significant hardships in pursuit of education and success. 'I also came from a poor background. When I wanted to attend the best university, I slept in the classroom for many years because the school was far from our hometown, and we lived in a rural area,' she recounted.

Her remarks have since sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users praised her comments regarding Ghana's peaceful environment and economic opportunities, others argued that citizens still have legitimate concerns about governance and the rising cost of living.
