Ghana Businesses to Tap World Cup Market with Made-in-Ghana Expo

Accra: The government has launched a Made-in-Ghana Expo to be held during the 2026 FIFA World Cup to promote local products and expand Ghana's presence on the global market. The two-day event is scheduled for June 22-23, 2026, in Boston in the United States.

According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, speaking at the launch in Accra, said the Expo would connect Ghanaian businesses to international buyers, investors, and the diaspora. She highlighted that Ghana's participation in the World Cup provides an opportunity to promote the country not only through football but also as a source of quality goods and innovation.

The Minister noted that sectors such as textiles, agro-processing, natural beauty products, and digital services stood to benefit from the initiative. She explained that the Expo is part of the government's efforts to boost non-traditional exports, support local industries, and create jobs through increased trade.

Madam Ofosu-Agyare assured businesses of the ministry's support to help translate the platform into real export opportunities and partnerships. She also commended LITINA Travel and Tour for leading the initiative. The Minister urged businesses to take advantage of the opportunity to expand into international markets.

Stakeholders, including the Association of Ghana Industries, expressed that the Expo would help raise the profile of Ghanaian products and improve their competitiveness globally.
