Accra: The Ghana Football Association has successfully conducted the draw for the 2026 MTN Elite Under-19 Championship, setting the stage for another exciting edition of one of the country's premier youth football competitions.
According to Ghana Web, the draw was held at the GFA headquarters in Accra on Friday, August 7. It placed the 10 Regional Football Association (RFA) Under-19 teams into two groups of five. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 24 to September 4, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Defending champions Eastern Region headline Group A, competing against Volta Region, Ashanti Region, Western Region, and Upper West Region. Group B features 2025 runners-up Brong Ahafo Region, who will face Central Region, Upper East Region, Greater Accra Region, and Northern Region.
The 11-day championship showcases some of Ghana's most promising young footballers, offering them a platform to demonstrate their skills and catch the attention of national youth team selectors and professional clubs.
Sponsored by MTN Ghana, the Elite U-19 Championship is integral to the GFA's youth development strategy. It underscores the Association's commitment to nurturing the next generation of football stars in Ghana.

Following the successful draw for the championship, focus now shifts to the Inter-Regional Division Two Championship. Preparations are led by Eric Edem Agbana and his team, who are readying for another chapter in Ghana's football development.
The draw ceremony was attended by Executive Council member and Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman, Samuel Aboabire, Upper West Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Daudi Sadugu Yahaya, the GFA's Head of Strategy and Public Relations, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, and Acting Director of Competitions, Maxwell Caesar Kemeh.
