Accra:The Controller and Accountant-General's Department (CAGD) has completed the payment of promotion-related salary adjustments and arrears to 56,003 teachers from the Ghana Education Service (GES). This was achieved ahead of the October 16, 2026 deadline set in agreement with teacher unions.
According to Ghana Web, the payments were made in two phases; 49,725 teachers received their adjustments and arrears on October 15, alongside their October salaries, covering arrears dating back to January 1, 2026. An additional 6,278 teachers were paid in September.
The CAGD confirmed that payments were completed for all teachers whose records met payroll requirements. The department also emphasized its commitment to processing any remaining eligible payments promptly once the necessary documents are received and verified.
