Accra: Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is set to present the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 23, 2026. This presentation serves as a statutory requirement that informs Parliament about the country's economic performance during the first half of the year and outlines the government's fiscal strategy for the remainder of 2026.
According to Ghana Web, the Mid-Year Budget Review is conducted in compliance with Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921). This act mandates the Finance Minister to report on the execution of the national budget and provide an outlook for the rest of the financial year.
The review aims to evaluate the government's economic management over the past six months, focusing on areas such as revenue mobilisation, public expenditure, debt servicing, and the country's overall fiscal position.
Additionally, Dr. Forson is anticipated to present the government's policy direction for the second half of the year, as well as announce any necessary adjustments to the 2026 Budget in response to prevailing economic conditions.
