Nyankpala:Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has outlined Ghana's New Economy strategy, emphasizing its focus on tackling unemployment and removing obstacles for young people, farmers, and small business owners.
According to Ghana Web, Dr. Forson addressed the critical need for education to result in employment and for talent to receive necessary support. He stressed that unemployment affects individuals personally, highlighting the struggles of graduates and young people with talent but lacking capital.
Dr. Forson emphasized the importance of creating economic opportunities, noting the challenges faced by farmers without reliable markets and small businesses hindered by high credit costs. He pointed out the sacrifices families make for their children's education, only for them to struggle to find work post-graduation.
He rejected the normalization of these challenges within national life, asserting that a serious nation must strive to overcome these issues. His remarks were made during a session with students and faculty at the University for Development Studies' Nyankpala Campus.
